Supply & Logistics Officer – UNICEF (Abuja)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Supply & Logistics Officer (NO‑2) for a 364‑day temporary assignment in Abuja, Nigeria. The officer will lead the planning, management and oversight of supply chain operations that support UNICEF programmes and government initiatives, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods and services for children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the Supply Team in performance management, capacity building and operational readiness.
• Plan, monitor and advise on all UNICEF logistics activities, ensuring efficiency and accountability.
• Implement emergency preparedness and response strategies, including agreements, stock pre‑positioning and staff training.
• Coordinate with regional, global and governmental partners to align supply chain strategies and transition logistics activities to government systems.
• Support donor engagement, partner assessments and participation in supply‑related events.
• Provide technical advice for strengthening government supply chains and manage pilot projects and product launches.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain management or humanitarian assistance.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and to lead capacity‑building initiatives.
