Storeman – Workshop

About the role

The Storeman in the workshop is responsible for the flow of goods, including receipt, storage, issuance, and accurate inventory management of spare parts for DP World’s operations in Marina, Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Update bin cards immediately when spare parts are supplied or issued and ensure physical and system balances match.
• Use correct documentation for receiving and issuing parts.
• Maintain good warehousing practices, including receiving, identifying, handling, storing, issuing, and delivering spare parts.
• Process job orders daily on the Instanta system.
• Verify that stock serials posted in the system match physical stock.
• Determine appropriate storage locations (bin allocation) and communicate them to store officers.
• Report any observed issues with stock or warehouse conditions promptly.
• Spot‑check inventory, verify record accuracy, and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Maintain warehouse arrangement and maximize space utilization.
• Monitor reorder levels and ensure warehouse safety and housekeeping.
• Coordinate inventory cycles, updating slow‑moving and fast‑moving parts.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, spot checks, and periodic store counts of all parts.
• Maintain proper documentation of all work orders.
• Interface with technical buyer, vendors, and the workshop.
• Submit monthly reports of all orders posted.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the head of unit or HOD.

Required profile

• ND in Accounting or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in inventory management.
• Experience in customer relationship management.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office package.
• Entry‑level qualification as indicated in the posting.
