State Coordinator – Immunisation Demand Generation (Consultant)

About the role

Evidence Action is seeking a State Coordinator to lead the implementation of its Immunisation Demand Generation (IDG) pilot in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The coordinator will serve as the primary field‑level presence, working closely with state, LGA and health‑facility stakeholders to ensure high‑quality delivery of demand‑generation interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day implementation of the IDG pilot across selected LGAs, wards and health facilities, applying technical guidance and SOPs.
• Support the digital reminder component by collecting caregiver information, relaying feedback on content, timing and delivery, and establishing processes for eligible child identification.
• Oversee community ambassador activities, including nomination, recruitment and engagement of trusted community members to disseminate vaccination information.
• Manage targeted incentive mechanisms, such as transport support and integration of SQ‑LNS where applicable.
• Provide orientation and training for state, LGA and facility staff, and support monitoring, learning and evaluation activities.
• Maintain regular communication with state government focal points, attend coordination meetings and report progress, risks and challenges to the Program Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, community development or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience implementing public‑health or social‑behavior change programmes at state or LGA level in Nigeria, preferably in immunisation, maternal‑child health or nutrition.
• Familiarity with the health system and government structures in Nasarawa State is an advantage.
• Experience working directly with communities, health‑facility staff and/or community health workers.
• Experience with routine data collection and reporting.
