Solar Technician

About the role

Itel Energy is hiring a full-time Solar Technician in Anambra, Nigeria. The technician supports the service team with diagnostics, troubleshooting and maintenance of residential solar energy systems, inverters, batteries and related power products, and assists with installation and commissioning at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Support the service team with diagnostics, troubleshooting and functional checks on residential solar systems, inverters, batteries and power products.
• Inspect products and verify quality so units meet performance and safety standards before release or return to customers.
• Assist with installation, setup and commissioning of solar and energy storage systems at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance, repair and servicing according to company standards and safety guidelines.
• Carry out electrical wiring, connections and system tests following approved procedures.
• Document test results, service findings, repairs and quality observations accurately and on time.
• Provide on-site technical support and basic product guidance to customers, and escalate complex issues to the Service Supervisor or Technical Manager.
• Maintain tools, equipment and test instruments, and keep the workplace clean, safe and compliant with TranESS quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• Vocational training in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Solar Installation, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in solar installation, inverter installation, battery systems, electrical wiring, home appliances or technical service; previous experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Willingness to travel within Lagos and work flexible hours when required; a valid driver's licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• Good understanding of solar energy systems, inverters, batteries and electrical wiring principles.
• Hands-on technical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to use basic test and measurement tools such as multimeters safely.
• Basic knowledge of renewable energy or off-grid power solutions is an advantage.
• Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel) for reporting is an advantage.
