Software Engineer

About the role

Zone is a decentralized and regulated blockchain network that enables payments and acceptance of digital currencies. It is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Engineering team, reporting to the Engineering Manager. The role involves writing code, designing and implementing applications, and mentoring junior developers. The company runs a flexible work structure, with some days remote and others spent collaborating at the office.

Key responsibilities

• Write code, analyze data and contribute to the design and implementation of applications.
• Ensure the team delivers scalable, functional applications that meet specifications.
• Perform code reviews, inspect code quality and ensure process adherence.
• Analyze and contribute to user stories by discussing them with the product owner.
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
• Collaborate with other teams to keep operations running smoothly.
• Train and guide junior developers and new hires on company frameworks.
• Draft application operating procedures and technical documentation as required.
• Set team goals and cascade individual objectives as needed.
• Take part actively in Scrum processes with team members.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related software field.
• At least 5 years of related work experience in software development.
• Experience building payment systems, including ISO8583/ISO22022 and card transaction processing flows.
• Experience building systems handling millions of transactions or requests at scale, and distributed systems and microservices for high-throughput, low-latency messaging.
• Experience as a developer in companies serving millions of daily requests, large client bases, or enterprise-grade apps such as ERPs.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, payment, banking and IT infrastructure.
