Social Media Officer

About the role

Patabah Books Limited is hiring a full-time Social Media Officer in Lagos (Marina) to manage its social media presence and promote its books and products. The role covers content creation, community engagement and collaboration with the sales, inventory and management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the company's social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other relevant channels.
• Create engaging content such as posts, graphics, short videos, reels, stories and promotional materials.
• Promote books, new arrivals, bestsellers, special offers, events and other company activities.
• Respond promptly and professionally to comments, messages and customer enquiries on social media.
• Collaborate with sales, inventory and management teams to promote available books and products accurately and on time.
• Monitor social media trends, audience preferences, competitor activity and engagement opportunities.
• Ensure all content reflects the company's brand identity, values and professional standards.

Required profile

• A minimum of OND; relevant practical experience can replace formal qualifications.
• At least 2 years of practical experience managing social media accounts for a business or brand.
• A portfolio showing previous social media content, campaigns or account management work.
• Experience creating content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or similar platforms.
• Understanding of books, reading culture, education or retail is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of social media analytics, audience growth strategies and digital marketing principles.
• Excellent writing, copywriting and creative content development skills.
• Proficiency in Canva, CapCut, content planning and social media management.
• Strong communication, customer service and community management skills.
• Ability to analyse social media performance and improve engagement and sales.
• Good organisation, attention to detail, time management and independence in meeting deadlines.
