Social Behavioral Change Lead

About the role

The Social Behavioral Change (SBC) Lead will design and drive the malaria SBC and demand‑creation strategy for a national ITN distribution campaign. Reporting to MSH campaign leadership, the role ensures that messaging reaches communities before, during, and after distribution, fostering correct and consistent net use.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the SBC/demand‑creation strategy, workplan, and channel mix aligned with the national malaria SBC strategy.
• Define SBC objectives, priority audiences, key behaviours, and integrate planning with micro‑planning, logistics, and training timelines.
• Create culturally appropriate messages and materials in coordination with the National Malaria Programme and technical partners.
• Oversee pre‑campaign sensitisation, community leader engagement, town announcements, school‑based outreach, and mass‑media coordination.
• Recruit, train, and deploy community mobilisers, town announcers, and volunteers with accurate key messages and job aids.
• Coordinate with logistics teams to deliver hang‑up demonstrations and net‑care guidance at distribution points.
• Lead post‑distribution SBC activities, including household follow‑up, rumour‑tracking, and feedback mechanisms.
• Develop monitoring indicators, conduct spot checks, and compile regular SBC progress reports.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 7 years (84 months) of experience in health communication, social‑behavioral change, or malaria‑related campaigns.
• Proven ability to design and implement large‑scale SBC strategies and manage multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Experience coordinating community mobilisers, mass‑media channels, and logistics for health interventions.
• Strong analytical skills to develop monitoring tools, track indicators, and produce actionable reports.
