SOC Analyst

About the role

A cybersecurity solutions provider, represented by eRecruiter, is hiring a SOC Analyst in Lagos. The company offers security and risk consulting, managed security services and threat detection through its Cyber Defence Security Operations Centre (CSOC). The analyst monitors security systems, manages incidents, supports users and ensures the availability of critical security infrastructure within SLA.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and provide technical support for the company's security systems and their underlying processes
• Centralise the management, control and reporting of issues, queries, incidents and requests, keeping stakeholders informed
• Resolve security incidents and requests within SLA, including corrective maintenance (root-cause analysis and bug fixes)
• Proactively monitor security systems, perform regular health checks and watch critical indicators across web, app, database, operating systems and infrastructure
• Manage release transitions, including operational handovers, and produce regular status reports and incident reviews
• Support users with application use, grant access and integrate support for new nodes or services
• Ensure compliance with the Company Nigeria Group Information Security Policy and its controls, including automated data quality controls and reporting
• Monitor and manage software licences to avoid expiry
• Provide 24x7x365 support (on-site or off-site depending on business needs) for the supported systems
• Recommend ways to optimise security monitoring tools

Required profile

• First degree in Computer Science or a related field
• At least 4 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience after completing NYSC

Required skills

• Use of vulnerability scanning tools and other Blue team tools
• CERTIFIED Ethical Hacker (CEH), CASP, OEM certifications for platforms in scope (added advantage), CISSP, CISM
• Knowledge of antivirus/antimalware, data loss prevention, user behaviour analytics, vulnerability assessment, endpoint detection and response, database firewalls, web proxies and security incident management
