Short‑Term Health Consultant Positions

About the role

NPHD Limited, through the Network for Health, Equity and Development (NHED), is seeking qualified short‑term consultants to support a range of health‑related projects across Nigeria. The contracts run for 3‑6 months and may involve field work, remote activities, and workshop participation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct climate‑health vulnerability assessments and develop climate‑resilient health system strategies.
• Optimize health procurement processes, logistics, and supply‑chain management for essential commodities.
• Design, deploy and manage digital health tools, HMIS (e.g., DHIS2) and data‑analytics dashboards.
• Lead business development, donor engagement, marketing and public‑relations initiatives for health programmes.
• Develop and evaluate community demand‑creation and SBCC campaigns.
• Perform health‑financing analyses, track expenditures and support resource‑mobilisation efforts.
• Provide technical assistance for immunisation programmes, cold‑chain management and campaign planning.
• Create training curricula, facilitate capacity‑building workshops and mentor middle‑level health managers.
• Integrate gender equity and social inclusion principles into project design and monitoring.
• Strengthen Ward Health Committees and primary‑care governance at the local level.
• Develop research frameworks, data‑collection tools and produce comprehensive MERL reports.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, development studies, economics, communications or related field (master’s preferred).
• At least five years of professional experience in development, research or programme implementation, preferably with NGOs, international organisations or public‑sector agencies.
• Strong analytical, writing and presentation abilities; capacity to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and teamwork.
