Senior Relationship Manager – Public Sector Banking (South East)

About the role

The Senior Relationship Manager will lead business development and relationship management for the public‑sector portfolio across Nigeria’s South East region. Reporting to the Regional Head of the Public Sector Group, the role focuses on originating and managing strategic relationships with state governments, ministries, agencies, local councils and tertiary institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic business plan for the South East public‑sector market.
• Source, onboard and deepen relationships with public‑sector clients to grow deposits, lending and transaction‑banking volumes.
• Structure credit facilities, prepare credit proposals and monitor loan performance.
• Cross‑sell treasury, payments, FX, investment and digital‑banking solutions to generate fee‑based income.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Corporate Banking, Risk Management, Operations and Product teams.
• Ensure compliance with CBN guidelines, AML/CFT, KYC and internal risk policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
• Professional certifications such as ACIB, CFA, ACA, ACCA or CIBN are desirable.
