Senior Medical Officer

About the role

CareValue Health, an integrated health system powered by AI, is hiring a Senior Medical Officer for its Lagos office. The role provides clinical leadership, oversees patient care quality and supports the implementation of AI-powered care pathways. It is a full-time, on-site position involving direct patient consultations, supervision of junior medical staff and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and guide physicians and clinical teams
• Oversee patient care quality and take part in case reviews
• Optimize protocols for cardiovascular and chronic disease management
• Contribute to training and mentoring of junior physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Work with technology and operations colleagues to align clinical practice with the organization's mission and standards

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and a valid license to practice
• Postgraduate clinical qualification or residency training is highly advantageous
• Experience in surgery and complex case management, and in training and mentoring medical staff
• Proven experience working with physicians and multidisciplinary teams in integrated or tertiary care settings
• Excellent communication, ethical judgment and commitment to patient safety, equity and culturally sensitive care

Required skills

• Strong clinical expertise in medicine and patient care
• Ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure
• Experience in cardiovascular care, chronic disease management or telehealth/AI-enabled care models is a strong plus
• Ability to adapt to technology-driven environments and contribute to innovation in clinical processes
