Gastroenterologist

About the role

Zendale Endoscopy is a state-of-the-art endoscopy center offering specialized diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal services, including gastroenterology consultations, upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, variceal banding and PEG tube insertion. It is looking for a full-time, on-site Gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive clinical care for gastrointestinal and liver conditions in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outpatient consultations, diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic procedures for gastrointestinal and liver conditions
• Perform upper and lower GI endoscopies, ERCP and other advanced endoscopic interventions
• Interpret diagnostic findings and develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Collaborate with nursing and allied health professionals and take part in multidisciplinary case discussions
• Follow clinical protocols and quality standards, and support patient education, informed consent and follow-up care

Required profile

• Must reside in Lagos and its environs
• Strong clinical foundation in medicine and gastroenterology, able to manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders
• Recognized medical degree and specialist certification in Gastroenterology (or equivalent), with valid registration to practice in Nigeria
• Prior experience in an endoscopy center or tertiary care setting is highly beneficial; familiarity with quality improvement and clinical audit is an advantage

Required skills

• Endoscopy: upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy
• Hepatology: assessment and management of liver disease and related complications
• Infection prevention and control, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards
• Excellent communication, teamwork and documentation skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
