Medical Laboratory Scientist

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to manage and oversee a newly established diagnostic laboratory in Lagos. The role involves ensuring high‑quality laboratory services and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory investigations including haematology, clinical chemistry, urinalysis and microbiology.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and analysers.
• Validate results, maintain quality control standards and ensure patient confidentiality.
• Manage laboratory records, reagents, inventory and supervise support staff as needed.

Required profile

• BMLS degree or recognised equivalent with current MLSCN registration and practising licence.
• Minimum 5 years post‑NYSC experience, preferably in a clinical diagnostic laboratory.
• Ability to independently manage routine laboratory operations and ensure safety procedures.

Required skills

• Operating haematology analysers.
• Operating clinical chemistry analysers.
• Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Laboratory quality control and infection prevention procedures.
