Senior Lawyer - Litigation and Corporate Law

About the role

A leading law firm in Abuja is looking for an experienced, results-driven Senior Lawyer to join its legal team. The successful candidate will combine expertise in litigation, corporate and commercial law, legal drafting and advisory services, and will be able to manage complex legal matters and represent clients effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters, including court appearances, legal research and case preparation
• Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements, pleadings and other legal documents
• Manage client relationships and offer practical, commercially sound legal solutions
• Conduct legal research and monitor legislative and regulatory developments
• Represent clients in negotiations, dispute resolution and other proceedings
• Manage multiple cases and transactions while meeting legal deadlines
• Support junior lawyers and help develop the firm's legal practice

Required profile

• Minimum of 7 years of post-call experience as a legal practitioner
• Strong experience in litigation, corporate law, commercial law and legal drafting
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian laws, court procedures and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication, client management, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Professionalism, integrity and attention to detail
