Senior Finance Associate (G-7) – Temporary, Abuja

About the role

UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a Senior Finance Associate (G‑7) on a temporary 364‑day appointment based in Abuja. The role supports the Finance Manager and the Polio Team Lead in delivering accurate financial operations in line with UNICEF’s rules and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process financial transactions, ensuring compliance with UNICEF financial policies.
• Conduct research and analysis of irregular cases, propose corrective actions and improvements.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets and forecasts for the Health Section.
• Coordinate with government and partner entities on child‑survival financing initiatives.
• Support audit processes and provide necessary documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in finance, accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 1 month of professional experience in finance or accounting.
• Demonstrated ability to work under supervision and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to UNICEF’s mission.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UNICEF financial rules and regulations.
• Ability to research, evaluate and recommend process improvements.
