About the role
Brendan Nicholas Holdings is a permanent‑capital institution that builds and holds companies for the long term across Africa. We are appointing a Director of Investment to lead our Energy Desk. This senior institutional role focuses on assessing opportunities, assembling boards, structuring governance and originating new companies rather than negotiating contracts.
Key responsibilities
- Assess investment opportunities in the energy sector
- Assemble boards and executive teams for new companies
- Structure governance frameworks for the desk
- Originate and launch new energy companies
- Be accountable for all desk-built entities
Required profile
- Carried an asset or company from origination to operation with responsibility for the outcome
- Held decision authority over capital
- Appointed and removed senior executives
- Operated within a constrained governance structure
- Maintained verifiable sector relationships
