Senior Completion Applications Engineer

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking an experienced Completion Applications Engineer to serve as the technical focal point for upper and lower completion projects. You will design fit‑for‑purpose completion solutions, support field execution, and drive technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and application engineering of upper and lower completion systems for offshore and onshore wells.
• Develop optimized completion architectures based on reservoir, wellbore, and operational requirements.
• Select and specify equipment such as production packers, SCSSVs, gas‑lift systems, sliding sleeves, and intelligent completion components.
• Provide technical ownership of open‑hole gravel pack (OHGP) and sand‑control applications, including screen selection and gravel‑pack design.
• Perform detailed tubing stress, burst, collapse, tension, compression, buckling, and thermal analyses using tools like WellCat.
• Support tenders, technical proposals, customer presentations, and post‑installation troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of completion engineering experience covering both upper and lower completions.
• Proven experience with production packers, SCSSV systems, intelligent completions, gas‑lift systems, sand‑control technologies, and OHGP applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers, field operations, and global engineering teams.
