Senior Brand Storyteller (Fintech/Payments)

About the role

Our client, a leading payments platform in Africa, is seeking a Senior Brand Storyteller to craft compelling narratives that connect merchants, partners, and the broader ecosystem. Based in Lagos, you will work in a hybrid setting, reporting directly to the Brand Storytelling Lead and acting as a creative and strategic partner on high‑impact storytelling initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute brand storytelling across product launches, campaigns, announcements, social media, video, events, and PR.
• Write and edit a variety of content formats, including long‑form articles, video scripts, social posts, newsletters, internal updates, merchant emails, and campaign copy.
• Transform product and company milestones into clear, trust‑building stories that reinforce brand positioning.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure storytelling aligns with business goals and community‑building objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional writing experience.
• Exceptional writing ability across multiple formats, consistently delivering a level above standard copy.
• Strong creative and brand strategy skills, capable of identifying the strongest narrative angle.
• Excellent editorial judgment and the ability to spot weak ideas early.
• Comfortable working as a senior individual contributor, balancing high‑level strategy with detailed execution.
