Senior Accountant

About the role

Korrency is a cross‑border remittance fintech that helps the African diaspora send money home. As a Senior Accountant you will own the company’s books, manage multi‑currency transactions and ensure a timely month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Run the full month‑end close: accruals, pre‑payments, journal entries, foreign‑exchange revaluation and produce management accounts.
• Reconcile all bank, payment‑partner and wallet balances against the platform ledger each month.
• Maintain day‑to‑day transactions in QuickBooks Online across CAD, GBP, EUR and NGN.
• Manage accounts payable, vendor bills, contractor invoices and payment runs with proper approvals.
• Lead the year‑end close with external accountants and prepare schedules for financial statements and tax filings.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of accounting experience, preferably in fintech, payments or multi‑currency environments.
• ICAN or ACCA qualified (part‑qualified candidates with strong experience considered).
• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance or related field, NYSC completed or exempted.
• Owns a reliable laptop, internet and power backup for full‑time remote work.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (or similar cloud accounting system).
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets (lookups, pivot tables, large data sets).
• Strong bank and balance‑sheet reconciliation abilities.
• Basic SQL or ability to extract data from platform databases.

What we offer

• Independent contractor engagement, full‑time remote.
• Compensation between ₦400,000 and ₦600,000 per month, paid in Naira.
• Regular overlap with Canadian (Toronto) business hours.
