Compliance Analyst

About the role

You will join a small compliance team at a cross‑border remittance company, reviewing alerts, investigating unusual activity, and documenting findings for regulators. The role works closely with the Compliance Officer and Senior Compliance Analyst.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily transaction monitoring alerts, investigate flagged activity and record clear decisions.
• Draft suspicious transaction reports (STRs) for senior review and sign‑off.
• Review KYC documents, conduct enhanced due diligence on higher‑risk customers, and clear sanctions/PEP screening alerts.
• Assist in investigating payment disputes, chargebacks and fraud reports, responding to compliance queries from customers and partners.
• Maintain case files, trackers and compliance records ready for audit and produce weekly compliance metrics.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in AML, KYC, fraud or compliance within banking, fintech, payments or remittance.
• Hands‑on experience investigating alerts, drafting STRs/SARs and performing enhanced due diligence.
• Strong written English with clear case notes and report drafting.
• B.Sc. or HND (NYSC completed or exempted) and own laptop with reliable internet and power backup.

Required skills

• AML/KYC compliance processes and sanctions/PEP screening.
• Use of KYC and screening tools such as Smile ID, Onfido, Sumsub, ComplyAdvantage or World‑Check.
• Familiarity with goAML, CBN/NFIU requirements and interest in FINTRAC/UK AML rules.

What we offer

• Independent contractor engagement, full‑time remote work with regular overlap with Canadian business hours.
• Salary ₦400,000–₦500,000 per month, paid monthly in Naira.
• Flexibility to invoice monthly and manage own tax and pension.
