Technical Support Specialist

About the role

The Technical Support Specialist will deliver high‑quality remote technical support, product expertise and training for Kidde Commercial and GST fire detection systems across Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana and Uganda. Working closely with regional sales, engineering and product teams, the role ensures system performance, customer satisfaction and capability development within the partner network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support to customers, distributors and internal teams via phone, email and online platforms.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on fire detection and fire alarm systems.
• Support system commissioning, configuration and fault‑finding activities.
• Escalate complex technical issues to global product and engineering teams when required.
• Offer technical guidance on system design, application and compliance for Kidde Commercial and GST products.
• Assist sales teams with technical input during customer engagements and solution development.
• Deliver virtual and in‑person technical training to customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain strong relationships with channel partners, integrators and end‑users, providing post‑sales support.
• Contribute to improving customer satisfaction and service delivery standards.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the fire detection or fire alarm industry.
• Proven experience in technical support, commissioning or system engineering.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and willingness to travel occasionally.
