Security Coordinator

About the role

The Security Coordinator will support the Security Manager in implementing SPIE Global Services Energy’s security strategy at the Port Harcourt site. This full‑time, onsite role involves supervising a mixed team of civil and armed guards, managing guard rooms, and ensuring the effectiveness of all security measures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, supervision and direction to the contracted security guard force, including both civil and armed personnel.
• Manage the guard room, enforce security policies, and maintain operational effectiveness of procedural, physical and technical security measures.
• Administer official security records, duty rosters, leave, timesheets and overtime for the guard force.
• Respond to out‑of‑hours security incidents, coordinate resources and assist with emergency response.
• Monitor, report and help manage security breaches and related incidents.
• Coordinate activities of armed guards (MOPOLS) for escorts, guard posts and protective services.
• Maintain inventory of security equipment and report faults to the Security Manager.
• Develop and deliver training to improve guard performance and incident response.
• Provide backup support to the Security Manager during absences.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years supervising a large security guard force or 5 years delivering manned guarding services.
• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to command respect.
• Good knowledge of security operations and policies.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to incidents promptly.

Required skills

• Experience managing civil and armed security personnel.
• Familiarity with security record‑keeping, roster administration and equipment inventory.
• Understanding of security systems and incident reporting procedures.
