Sales Development Representative

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Sales Development Representative to join VerifyAfrica’s growth team. You will be responsible for generating qualified leads and driving new business across the compliance and fintech markets in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and develop new business opportunities across target industries.
• Generate qualified leads through outbound activities, networking, referrals and digital prospecting tools.
• Build and maintain relationships with compliance officers, product managers, business leaders and C‑suite executives.
• Present and demonstrate VerifyAfrica’s identity verification and regulatory solutions to prospective clients.
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to negotiation, closing and account handover.
• Maintain accurate sales records, pipeline forecasts and activity tracking within the CRM system.
• Collaborate with marketing, product and customer success teams to optimise acquisition and retention strategies.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and emerging market opportunities.
• Provide regular sales reports and performance insights to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of proven B2B sales, business development or account management experience.
• Track record of selling SaaS, fintech, API or compliance solutions and meeting sales targets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast‑paced startup environment.
