Sales Associate - Fashion Retail

About the role

Smartmark Limited is hiring a full-time Sales Associate for its fashion retail store in Marina, Lagos. The role combines sales performance, customer service, product knowledge, visual merchandising and store operations in a premium/luxury fashion environment.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets through upselling, cross-selling and suggestive selling, and promote new collections and offers
• Welcome customers, understand their needs, give personalised recommendations and build loyal relationships
• Handle enquiries and complaints professionally, and support loyalty, clienteling and CRM initiatives
• Build product knowledge of brands, materials, sizing and care, and represent the brand image
• Maintain store cleanliness, display standards, pricing and visual merchandising, and replenish the sales floor
• Support stock receiving, verification, tagging, replenishment, stocktaking and inventory reconciliation
• Process transactions accurately on POS systems, handle cash and cards, issue receipts and support exchanges and returns
• Support store opening and closing, comply with policies, grooming and health and safety requirements, and take part in training and performance reviews

Required profile

• Minimum OND in a relevant discipline; additional training in sales, customer service, fashion merchandising or retail management is an advantage
• At least 2 years' experience in retail sales, customer service or a related customer-facing role; fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty, lifestyle or luxury retail experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and provide excellent customer service
• Previous POS experience is an advantage; entry-level candidates with strong communication skills and sales potential may also be considered
