Risk & Compliance Officer

About the role

Swift Consulting is seeking a proactive Risk & Compliance Officer to strengthen its risk management and compliance framework across its shipping and logistics operations. You will work closely with business units to identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational and regulatory risks.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess, document and monitor financial, operational, regulatory and business risks across the Group.
• Develop and maintain risk management and compliance policies, procedures and frameworks.
• Conduct periodic compliance and operational risk assessments and internal audits.
• Review business processes, recommend internal controls and monitor transactions for unusual patterns.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date risk register and track implementation of mitigation plans.
• Prepare regular risk and compliance reports for senior management.
• Support regulatory inspections, audits and other compliance engagements.
• Promote compliance awareness and provide training to employees.
• Monitor third‑party/vendor risks and ensure due diligence is performed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Law, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, financial services, fintech or related industries.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, corporate governance and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, investigative and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
