Remote DevOps Engineer – Build Global African Food Marketplace

About the role
WakaEat is launching the first truly global African food marketplace across Lagos and Washington DC. We need a hands‑on DevOps Engineer to complete our AWS infrastructure setup and deploy all backend services quickly and reliably.
Key responsibilities
- Deploy all backend microservices on AWS ECS.
- Design, implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Manage AWS infrastructure components including ECS, RDS, MemoryDB, Route 53, Secrets Manager, SSL certificates and domain settings.
- Configure environment variables across all services.
- Produce comprehensive hand‑over documentation for internal continuity.
Required profile
- Proven hands‑on experience with AWS (especially ECS, RDS and Route 53).
- Strong Docker and containerised deployment expertise.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tools.
- Available to start immediately and work independently under tight timelines.
- Fluent English communication.
- Startup background and microservices experience are a plus.

What we offer
- Probation period of 4 months with a salary of N300,000 per month.
- Post‑probation salary reviewed based on performance.
