Relationship Manager, Public Sector (North West)

About the role

Standard Bank Group is hiring a Relationship Manager for its Public Sector business covering the North West region, based in Kaduna. The role owns the client relationship and manages the client portfolio, with accountability for total client revenue and cross-selling the bank's products and services. It focuses on selling the bank's products so that the best solutions are offered to each client.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the public sector client and relationship across Nigeria to maximise cross-selling revenue and client profitability
• Liaise with the Credit Department where necessary, giving input during credit origination, evaluation and execution of credit offers
• Prospect for new public sector clients
• Manage the client budget across all approved products and ensure organic growth through new transactions
• Work with product houses to create new opportunities for existing and new clients
• Monitor client account utilisation across asset classes and ensure risk management on all accounts
• Prepare and update account plans to provide strategic and tactical planning for the client

Required profile

• First degree in any field
• Professional certification or a Master's degree in generic management or a related course is an added advantage
• At least 5-7 years of experience as a trade sales executive, debt solution analyst, transactional banker or account executive
• Cognate experience in sales and customer relationship management

Required skills

• Knowledge of all bank products and services
• Familiarity with CBN regulations
• Sales skills, accounting/budgeting, computer literacy, risk management and credit evaluation
