Regional Technical Manager

About the role

CBRE Excellerate is seeking a Regional Technical Manager to act as the primary technical authority for its Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) engagement across Sub‑Saharan Africa. The role bridges CBRE delivery teams and the client’s engineering organisation, ensuring end‑to‑end resolution of technical matters in both French‑ and English‑speaking markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and advisory to facilities managers, project managers and the client on all engineering and facilities‑related issues.
• Serve as the single point of escalation for technical queries, coordinating across countries and time zones.
• Own the full lifecycle of incident and problem management, from classification to root‑cause analysis and closure.
• Lead change management assessments, ensuring risk assessments, method statements and rollback plans are in place before execution.
• Act as liaison between CBRE delivery teams and the client’s in‑house engineering team, facilitating joint reviews and site walk‑downs.
• Validate vendor and contractor technical proposals, oversee critical power installations, generator maintenance, elevator projects and protection studies.
• Oversee technical integrity of assets such as UPS systems, generators, ATS units, HV/LV switchgear, HVAC, elevators and building management systems.
• Produce bilingual technical reports and summaries for the client and internal leadership.

Required profile

• Fluent in French and English (written and spoken) – a non‑negotiable requirement.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering and critical facilities management, preferably within a multi‑country IFM environment.

Required skills

• Electrical engineering expertise with focus on critical facilities systems.
• Hands‑on knowledge of UPS, generators, ATS, HV/LV switchgear, HVAC, elevators and building management systems.
• Proficiency in incident, problem and change management using ITSM/CMMS platforms.
