Real Estate Legal Officer

About the role

The Real Estate Legal Officer is a full-time, on-site position based in Lekki. The role covers drafting, reviewing and negotiating real estate and commercial property agreements such as leases, sales and management contracts, and giving legal advice on property acquisitions, disposals and financing while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate leases, sales and management contracts
• Advise on property acquisitions, disposals and financing
• Conduct due diligence on properties
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Manage documentation and records
• Resolve real estate-related legal issues or disputes
• Support risk assessment for real estate transactions and contribute to policies that strengthen property portfolio management

Required profile

• Law degree (LLB) and license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction; prior real estate or commercial law experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of real estate and commercial real estate, with experience in advisory or transactional work
• Experience in property management, including oversight of compliance obligations and contractual relationships
• Familiarity with local property laws, land registration procedures and regulatory frameworks

Required skills

• Finance related to property transactions, including basic financial analysis and understanding of deal structures
• Expertise in drafting, reviewing and managing leases and other real estate contracts
• Analytical, negotiation and legal drafting skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and handle several matters at once

• Base salary of N350,000 net
