RDM/Drawing Machine Operator

About the role

The company is looking for a skilled RDM/Drawing Machine Operator to join its cable and wire manufacturing plant in Ogun State. You will be responsible for operating the Rod Breakdown Machine to produce copper wire of precise diameters while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the Rod Breakdown Machine (RDM) to draw 8 mm copper rod to sizes between 1.5 mm and 3.0 mm.
• Set and change drawing dies according to the production plan.
• Monitor and control the inline annealer to achieve proper softness and elongation.
• Check wire diameter regularly using a micrometer or vernier caliper.
• Maintain quality, minimise scrap and wire breakage.
• Perform basic cleaning, die maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety, quality and SOP guidelines and keep daily production reports.

Required profile

• Minimum SSCE qualification.
• 2–4 years proven experience as an RDM/Drawing Machine Operator in a cable or wire manufacturing company.
• Good knowledge of drawing dies, annealing processes and wire quality.
• Ability to read basic technical instructions.
• Disciplined, safety‑conscious and able to work shifts.
• Age between 25 and 45 and residence in Sango‑Ota, Ijoko.
