Quality Assurance Engineer (Remote)

About the role

A group of technology companies is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to act as the final gate before anything reaches its users. The role spans two products: an AI-powered voice and web agent platform and a safety technology platform with mobile and web apps. It is a hands-on position with real ownership, where you decide what needs testing and can say a feature is not ready to ship.

Key responsibilities

• Test both products daily across staging and production, covering mobile (iOS and Android), web and admin platforms
• Validate new features and bug fixes in staging and give QA sign-off as part of the release approval process
• Test safety-critical features such as emergency alerts, live audio and video streaming, location sharing and notifications
• Test map and routing logic, including risk scoring, route calculation and signal reporting and privacy behaviour
• Run regression testing on every release and check that performance, API performance and mobile responsiveness are not degraded
• Verify rollback readiness and monitor production after deployment
• Log bugs clearly with reproduction steps, screenshots or video, and escalate critical issues immediately
• Build and maintain automated tests across unit, integration, end-to-end and mobile layers, and help integrate them into the CI/CD pipeline
• Check translations and layouts across languages in the multi-language mobile app
• Report production issues, bugs and blockers in daily standups, submit a weekly QA report every Friday, and take part in post-incident reviews

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar role testing mobile and web applications
• Strong manual testing experience, including test planning, exploratory and regression testing
• Experience testing APIs and understanding how front end, back end and databases interact
• Clear, reproducible bug reporting and strong written communication
• Comfortable working directly with engineers and leadership, including raising difficult issues
• Reliable home setup with a stable internet connection and the ability to join calls without interruption

Required skills

• Mobile testing on iOS and Android, ideally React Native
• Test automation (e.g. Cypress, Playwright, Appium, Detox)
• CI/CD pipelines
• Nice to have: safety-critical and real-time testing, load and performance testing, monitoring and logging tools, multi-language application testing
