QA/QC Engineer – Piling – Civil Construction

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to ensure that civil construction activities, materials and workmanship meet approved project specifications, drawings, quality standards and applicable codes across major infrastructure projects in West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements for foundations, piling, reinforced concrete structures, earthworks, bridges and related works.
• Inspect construction materials (cement, aggregates, concrete, GSB, WMM) and coordinate material testing, laboratory activities and vendor approvals.
• Review mix designs, monitor concrete batching, conduct pre‑pour and post‑pour inspections and verify rectification of defects.
• Witness and review field and laboratory tests including concrete cube strength, FDD, MDD, gradation analysis, rebound hammer and other relevant tests.
• Coordinate Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) for pile foundations and reinforced concrete structures.
• Manage RFIs, NCRs, corrective and preventive actions and maintain accurate quality records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience in civil construction, infrastructure, highways, railways, bridges or major projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, concrete technology, earthworks, foundations and reinforced concrete structures.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and test reports.

Required skills

• Concrete testing and mix‑design control.
• Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) for piles and structures.
• Material testing procedures and laboratory coordination.
• Use of AutoCAD and related engineering software (advantageous).
