About the role
The Cost Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing budgets and ensuring cost‑effectiveness across construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to keep projects on track while maintaining high quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour and related expenses.
- Conduct cost analysis, optimise budgets and provide financial reports to management.
- Process vendor and employee payments accurately and on time.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist in tendering.
- Perform quantity take‑offs from drawings, prepare bills of quantities and visit sites to assess cost implications.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods and processes.
Required skills
- Proficiency with cost estimating software.
- Advanced use of the MS Office Suite.
