Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for managing inventory, vendor relations, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards within Marriott's food and retail operations in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Print, organize, and distribute essential documents and reports.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of company safety programs and local regulations.
• Calculate inventory figures, conduct audits, and monitor PAR levels for food items.
• Notify management of low stock, troubleshoot vendor delivery issues, and oversee returns.
• Verify and track received inventory, reconcile shipping invoices, and process deliveries.
• Enforce food safety, handling policies, and quality expectations.
• Assist in training, scheduling, counseling, and motivating staff while serving as a role model.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related purchasing or inventory experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lb and work on feet for extended periods.

Required skills

• Inventory management and audit procedures.
• Vendor communication and issue resolution.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and handling regulations.
