Project Finance Accountant

About the role

Rekrut Consulting is hiring a Project Finance Accountant in Lagos (Marina). The role covers capital expenditure management, cost and variance analysis, asset and capitalization oversight, vendor reconciliation and auditing and compliance for project finance work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage and monitor CAPEX budgets, project portfolios and cash flows against financial plans
• Track actual spending against estimates, analyse cost variances and recommend corrective actions to optimise project costs
• Oversee asset capitalization, disposals and depreciation, and keep accurate fixed asset registers
• Reconcile vendor accounts for project packages, review open investment orders, track Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and ensure timely invoice settlements
• Coordinate annual asset verifications and impairment testing, and respond to Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) audit queries under relevant accounting standards
• Work with project managers and procurement teams to evaluate risks, forecast future expenses and support strategic planning

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience in CAPEX, fixed assets, project finance or accounting
• NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
