Project Engineer (MEP)

About the role

An engineering and technical services company, which executes construction projects and provides Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems, is hiring an experienced Project Engineer (MEP) through its recruiter. The role coordinates site activities, supports project execution and ensures works are completed to approved specifications, quality standards and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, execution and delivery of MEP works on construction projects.
• Liaise with project management, site teams, subcontractors and other trades.
• Monitor daily site activities, schedules and progress, escalating delays to the Project Manager.
• Track materials, manpower and other site resources to support cost control.
• Conduct routine site inspections against approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) requirements.
• Identify project risks and support mitigation measures.
• Support variations, change orders and site instructions.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning and snagging.
• Prepare progress reports, site records and project documentation; support close-out, as-built documentation and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum five years' experience in MEP project execution and site coordination.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Good understanding of construction practices, quality control and site coordination.
• Strong communication, organisational and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to interpret project requirements, follow schedules, solve problems and coordinate with site teams and subcontractors.
