Programmes Management Assistant

About the role

The Programmes Management Assistant supports humanitarian field initiatives in Maiduguri, working closely with programme managers to ensure relief efforts are carried out promptly, accurately and to the highest quality. The role covers daily coordination of field activities, project record keeping and the maintenance of documentation that underpins effective intervention delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day coordination of humanitarian activities in the field.
• Manage project documentation and help leadership ensure relief programs are executed on time.
• Develop and update activity work plans, schedules and budget-versus-actual reports in line with approved project frameworks.
• Act as a liaison between field teams, logistics, finance and external partners to secure resources, transport and supplies.
• Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports and field updates for management and donors, and organize programme meetings, coordination forums and stakeholder engagements.
• Track progress against targets and timelines, flagging delays, bottlenecks and emerging risks.
• Maintain physical and digital filing systems for beneficiary registries, distribution logs, attendance records and activity reports.
• Assist with beneficiary registration, verification and distribution in line with humanitarian standards and protocols.
• Coordinate field visits, including logistics, security clearances and travel arrangements.
• Follow core humanitarian principles, safeguarding measures, PSEA and do-no-harm guidelines.
• Carry out other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
