About the role

The Research and Programme Development Associate plays a vital role in shaping evidence-based initiatives by conducting comprehensive desk research and analysing community requirements. The position turns raw data into actionable programme strategies, contributing research insights to concept notes, funding proposals and detailed project plans. It is based in Maiduguri.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in-depth desk research on community needs, sector priorities, donor preferences and policy frameworks.
• Assist in designing assessment instruments, interview protocols and data collection materials.
• Synthesise insights from stakeholder consultations, field assessments, published reports and secondary sources.
• Draft research briefs, contextual background documents and evidence-based summaries.
• Identify implementation gaps, operational risks, key stakeholders and viable approaches.
• Use research outcomes to formulate programme concepts, objectives, activities and expected results.
• Ensure accurate documentation and proper citation of research materials and data.
• Follow protocols on confidentiality, safeguarding, informed consent and data protection.
