Product Manager (Remote)

About the role

A prestigious consulting group is recruiting on behalf of a client that runs a SaaS platform connecting African researchers, innovators and businesses with mentorship, funding and commercialisation opportunities. The client is looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the development and launch of its Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within an agreed timeline, overseeing product strategy, cross-functional coordination, user research and quality, while also preparing product materials for fundraising and investor engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain the product roadmap, prioritising MVP development and subsequent releases.
• Coordinate designers, developers and other stakeholders to deliver a high-quality product on time.
• Recruit and onboard team members needed for product development.
• Facilitate Agile/Scrum processes, including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and backlog prioritisation.
• Run market and competitor research, user interviews and pilot testing to validate features.
• Document requirements, user stories, workflows and milestones; manage UAT, deployment and post-launch monitoring.
• Submit weekly progress reports on milestones, risks, blockers and priorities.
• Support fundraising with pitch decks, investor updates and product demos.
• Ensure data accuracy, security and compliance with data protection regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of product management experience, preferably in SaaS, fintech, edtech or research technology.
• Proven track record of delivering MVPs or complex digital products under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate cross-functional teams remotely.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and project management tools.
• UI/UX principles and understanding of software development lifecycles.
• Strong documentation, analytical, communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
