Phone Business Manager – North Zone

About the role

The Phone Business Manager – North Zone is a senior sales leader responsible for driving Sun King’s B2C PayGo phone business across the northern regions of Nigeria. Reporting to the Country Business Manager, you will oversee a zonal team, develop execution plans, and ensure revenue and credit‑quality targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the national PayGo phone strategy into a clear execution plan for the North Zone, setting regional and area targets for revenue, phone sales per agent, and market penetration.
• Lead, mentor and manage Area Phone Business Managers and their teams to achieve performance KPIs.
• Recruit, engage and retain a high‑performing network of phone‑selling agents across all five northern regions.
• Implement programs to increase the percentage of agents actively selling PayGo phones and deepen sales per agent.
• Own the end‑to‑end sales cycle, from agent recruitment to customer acquisition and repayment collections, working closely with Finance and Credit Risk teams.
• Monitor collection performance, enforce follow‑up procedures, and drive initiatives to reduce arrears.
• Ensure channel profitability through disciplined cost management and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven senior sales experience, preferably in telecom or consumer‑goods distribution.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate national plans into regional actions.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in managing multi‑city teams and agent networks.
• Excellent analytical abilities to assess repayment data and risk patterns.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on achieving revenue and profitability targets.
