Personnel Officer

About the role

The Personnel Officer will lead the administration of employee records, payroll, and industrial relations for a manufacturing and warehousing company in Abeokuta. You will ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws while supporting a harmonious workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update employee files, onboarding, promotions, transfers, and exits.
• Administer attendance, leave, and disciplinary documentation.
• Coordinate monthly payroll processing, verify salaries, overtime, allowances, and deductions.
• Manage union relationships, attend negotiations, and handle employee grievances.
• Oversee expatriate documentation, permits, visas, and quota compliance.
• Ensure statutory compliance with PENCOM, NSITF, ITF, NHF, PAYE and other regulations.
• Run employee welfare programs and workplace engagement initiatives.
• Prepare monthly personnel reports and workforce statistics for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Public Administration, Law or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in personnel administration or HR management.
• Professional certification such as CIPM is an advantage.
