Personal Banker

About the role

Standard Bank Group, an Africa-focused financial services group, is hiring a Personal Banker in Lagos. The role proactively manages a portfolio of retail clients by providing comprehensive, relationship-based banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and strengthen long-term customer relationships through excellent service, driving satisfaction, retention and referrals.
• Guide customers through the Bank's products and services, including lending solutions, account requirements and banking processes, in line with compliance policies.
• Carry out financial needs assessments for new and existing customers to match them with suitable banking solutions.
• Identify and execute cross-selling and up-selling opportunities across the product suite.
• Drive deposit mobilization by growing savings, current, fixed deposit and investment portfolios, meeting assigned liability and revenue targets.
• Manage and grow an assigned customer portfolio while maintaining sound risk management and portfolio quality.
• Acquire new-to-bank customers through business development, market networking and referrals.

Required profile

• University degree.
• Behavioural competencies such as checking things, convincing people, developing expertise and strategies, establishing rapport, following procedures, generating ideas, showing composure, team working and pursuing goals.
