People Lead – Hybrid (Lagos, Nigeria)

About the role

Paystack is looking for a People Lead to join its People team in Nigeria. This hands‑on position will shape employee experience, strengthen manager capability and align people practices with business goals. You will work in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment, balancing strategic thinking with day‑to‑day execution.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery for a clearly defined area, setting priorities and driving outcomes that support team and company goals.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, operations and customer teams to translate strategy into pragmatic plans and measurable results.
• Define, monitor and report on success metrics; use data to inform decisions and iterate quickly.
• Identify and manage risks, escalating when necessary and ensuring timely resolution of blockers.
• Document key decisions, maintain clear change‑management processes and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes.
• Coach and support colleagues, sharing knowledge to raise the team’s capability.

Required profile

• Outcome‑oriented with a strong sense of ownership from problem definition through delivery and measurement.
• Clear, adaptable communicator across technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Data‑driven decision maker who can prioritize work and make trade‑offs under uncertainty.
• Collaborative, open to feedback and comfortable in fast‑moving, cross‑functional teams.
• Maintains high standards for quality while being pragmatic about iterative improvements.
