About the role
Mercy Group Clinics is hiring a full-time Optometrist in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The role covers eye examinations, diagnosis and management of common eye conditions, and prescribing glasses and contact lenses.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments, including visual acuity tests and other diagnostic procedures.
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and visual disorders within scope of practice, and identify cases needing specialist referral.
- Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses where necessary.
- Provide counselling on eye health, hygiene and preventive care, and monitor patients' eye health and treatment progress.
- Promote eye health awareness and take part in vision screening programmes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and ensure proper use and maintenance of optometric equipment.
- Adhere to professional standards, clinical protocols and organisational policies.
Required profile
- Minimum of a BSc qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
