Operations Officer (NO-2) – Fixed Term – Sokoto, Nigeria

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Operations Officer (NO-2) on a fixed‑term basis to support its mission in Sokoto, Nigeria. As a Strategic Business Partner, you will oversee core operations, drive change, and provide risk‑informed analysis to help deliver results for children.

Key responsibilities

• Implement people‑resource strategies to build a skilled, agile workforce.
• Champion strategic use of financial resources to ensure value for money.
• Enhance risk management practices to improve organisational performance.
• Centralise and optimise operational systems for efficiency gains.
• Strengthen internal and external partnerships and oversee financial management oversight.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Public Finance or a related operations field.
• Professional licence from an internationally recognised institution is an asset.
• Minimum two years of professional experience at national or international level in operations management, including budgeting, financial reporting, facilities, administration, supply‑chain, ICT or HR.
