Operations Manager – Hybrid Manufacturing

About the role

Virtual Intelligence Solutions is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day production across both discrete assembly setups (parts, routing, work orders) and process operations (batches, mixing, continuous flow, yields). The role combines hands-on production leadership with data-driven performance monitoring and EHS compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across discrete assembly and process operations, including batches, mixing, continuous flow and yields.
• Implement and sustain Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to reduce cycle times, eliminate waste and minimize batch variances.
• Partner with supply chain and scheduling teams to run production plans, balancing mechanical setups and changeovers with continuous chemical or thermal runs.
• Lead, mentor and hold accountable shift supervisors and floor personnel, and foster cross-training between discrete and process areas.
• Monitor and improve shop-floor KPIs such as OEE, scrap/yield rates, on-time delivery and labor utilization.
• Enforce environmental, health and safety compliance for heavy machinery and chemical/raw material handling.
• Use ERP and MES systems to track raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods inventory.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of production leadership experience, including hybrid manufacturing environments (e.g. fluid/chemical compounds packaged into discrete units).
• Deep understanding of BOM management, especially structured discrete BOMs versus process formulas and recipes.
• Exceptional problem-solving, strong communication and a decisive leadership style in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with advanced ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle and NetSuite.
• Proficiency with MES tools.
