Tool Center Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Tool Center Mechanical Technician tests, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical tooling and equipment used in turbine generator field operations. The role sits within Siemens Energy's Gas Services division, which offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization of gas turbines, steam turbines and generators.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect incoming tools and equipment returned from outages or field operations to confirm completeness and functional condition.
• Perform routine maintenance, including minor mechanical repairs, lubrication, adjustments and basic calibration checks.
• Prepare tool sets for dispatch by checking tool lists, configuration, packing, labeling and documentation.
• Store tools, equipment and materials according to approved Tool Center layout standards and storage procedures.
• Report missing items, damage, non-conformities or abnormal conditions to the Tool Center Manager.
• Support painting, labeling, shelving, housekeeping and general facility upkeep.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues within assigned responsibility.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, manuals and tool lists accurately.
• Comply with OHS rules, use required PPE and report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Vocational degree or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician in an industrial workshop, manufacturing or tool service environment.
• Experience working independently on difficult but not overly complex technical problems, at an experienced professional level.
