Merchant Acquisition Executive

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Merchant Acquisition Executive to drive growth by onboarding new merchants across Lagos. You will promote POS terminals and business management solutions, manage the full onboarding process, and build lasting relationships with business owners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and acquire new merchants across restaurants, lounges, bars, hotels, supermarkets, retail stores, and other businesses within the assigned territory.
• Promote and sell POS terminals and business management solutions to prospective merchants.
• Conduct product presentations and demonstrations, highlighting key product features and business benefits.
• Manage the complete merchant onboarding process, including KYC documentation and account activation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners and key decision‑makers.
• Achieve assigned monthly merchant acquisition, activation, and revenue targets.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions using CRM tools or other reporting platforms.
• Provide post‑onboarding support to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and continuous product usage.
• Gather market intelligence and provide feedback on competitor activities, customer needs, and emerging business opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum OND/HND/BSc in any discipline.
• 2–4 years of B2B sales, merchant acquisition, POS sales, or business development experience in the fintech industry.
• Recent experience as a FinTech Sales Agent.
• Proven track record selling POS terminals or business management solutions and onboarding merchants.
• Strong knowledge of the Lagos Island market (Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, Ajah) and existing merchant networks preferred.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management abilities.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CRM tools.
