About the role

Pets Focus Veterinary Clinic is seeking a full‑time Veterinary Surgeon to join its on‑site team in Lagos State, Nigeria. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality surgical and medical care for companion animals while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑operative assessments, administer anesthesia, conduct soft‑tissue and orthopedic surgeries, and provide post‑operative care.
• Conduct physical examinations, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, and oversee preventive care such as vaccinations and parasite control.
• Interpret laboratory results, maintain accurate medical records, and contribute to clinical protocols and quality standards.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners, offering guidance on ongoing care and treatment plans.

Required profile

• Relevant veterinary degree and full professional licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Nigeria.
• Strong competence in veterinary surgery and medicine, including soft‑tissue and orthopedic procedures.
• Experience in preventive healthcare, nutrition advice, and postoperative management for pets.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team with empathetic client communication.
