Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Build-a-School Initiative in Africa, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Mechanical Engineer to join its on‑site team in Abeokuta. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems for school construction projects that serve local communities.

Key responsibilities

• Create and refine mechanical system designs using computer‑aided design (CAD) software.
• Oversee the machine design process from concept through implementation.
• Conduct research and development activities to introduce innovative, sustainable solutions.
• Manage project timelines and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure that all mechanical installations meet safety, quality, and resource‑efficiency standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven ability to work in challenging environments and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Prior experience in construction or educational infrastructure projects is a plus.
